Since 1997, Burr Ridge became known as one of the 300 wealthiest communities in America. Before that, in 1984, Burr Ridge was the first within DuPage County to provide Lake Michigan water to all of its’ customers. To this day, there are plenty of Burr Oak trees in Burr Ridge and the burr oak leaf became the Village emblem. Another unique perk of Burr Ridge is having one of the lowest tax rates in DuPage County. Burr Ridge’s motto truly is, “A Very Special Place.”

Originally, Burr Ridge was predominantly farmland and in 2006 the goal of the town was to preserve hallmark woodlands and ponds while planning a seven square mile community. Currently, Burr Ridge is blended with an established townhome community, immense residences, and valued members of the business community. The median age of Burr Ridge, according to livability.com is 51 years old with a population of approximately 10,753.
